Closing Time

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Tonight brings to each of us in the US the season and, barring some miraculously miraculous miracle, the series finale of Studio Sixty on the Sunset Strip, brought to us by my hero the venerable and most-awesome Mr. Aaron Sorkin.  My affections for Mr. Sorkin are well documented both on this page and in many other corners of worlds both digital and analogue so I’ll not go into that, I’ll just say that it’s a damn, damn, damn shame that this show never found the success it deserved.  This is a shame that we all share, and one only compounded by the fact that American Idol is the biggest show on TV.  And, sad though I am to see it go so young, I’m grateful for even 22 episodes with Sorkin at the wheel.  No other creator in television even comes close to the man.  That is, of course, until my show gets picked up wink wink.

I also want to mention that in a pretty classy move a bunch of fans got together and bought a full page ad in the Hollywood Reporter today and it looks a little something like this.

Studio 60 Fans say bye bye

So that’s it for Studio 60.  It’s last call.  But I’m sure we’ll hear more from the Sorkin camp in the hopefully not too distant future.  I for one, can’t wait.

Get a beverage of your choice and dig on some Sorkin,

E

It's E!
